More traffic in Madrid means **more seats available** on the transatlantic route and better conditions for airlines to hold or expand frequencies to the island.

The list of carriers linking Spain with the Dominican Republic is already wide: Iberia, Air Europa, Level, Plus Ultra and a few more are all chasing the same passenger. The reading is simple. If Barajas grows in traffic, the Spanish-speaking Caribbean catches that wave first. European tour operators building packages to the country have their main lever right there.

The challenge sits on the Dominican side of the operation. More arrivals demand airports that react fast, hotels with prepared staff and domestic connectivity that does not break the package. Nothing that MITUR and the hotel groups do not already have on the agenda.
