Spain places three destinations in the top 20. What this means for Dominican tourism. ## Article European urban tourism is starting to moderate its growth. According to [Hosteltur](https://www.hosteltur.com/178676_el-turismo-urbano-europeo-modera-su-crecimiento-con-tres-ciudades-espanolas-en-el-top-20.html), **three Spanish cities make it into the top 20** urban destinations on the continent, although the figures no longer rise at the pace of recent years. London, Paris and Rome keep their lead, and there is no surprise there. The reading for the Dominican sector is straightforward. When European capitals tap the brakes, part of that urban traveller starts looking at sun and beach alternatives, and the Caribbean appears in the equation. **Santo Domingo** has room to capture that profile, especially the one looking for a city with history, gastronomy and reasonable air connections. Spain remains the benchmark to beat in urban destination management. There is no need to copy the model, just understand what it does well: connectivity, country brand and an offer that does not depend only on summer. The Dominican Republic has room to grow there, and now is the time to work on it. ## Sources - Hosteltur: https://www.hosteltur.com/178676_el-turismo-urbano-europeo-modera-su-crecimiento-con-tres-ciudades-espanolas-en-el-top-20.html ## Citation European urban tourism slows down and Spain places three cities in the top 20.
