## Article

The **National Tourism Award** (PNDT) has announced that **Fernando Hazoury** will receive the **Entrepreneur of the Year** distinction in its fifth edition. [Reported by Infotur Dominicano](https://infoturdominicano.com/rd/v-edicion-del-premio-nacional-de-turismo-reconocera-a-fernando-hazoury-como-empresario-del-ano/), the recognition highlights a key player in the country's hotel development, linked to projects that have transformed offerings in destinations like Punta Cana and Cap Cana.

I see more than a lifetime achievement award here. Hazoury represents that generation of entrepreneurs who turned the eastern coast into a machine generating foreign currency and jobs. [The award, which will be presented in the framework of the fifth edition](https://infoturdominicano.com/rd/v-edicion-del-premio-nacional-de-turismo-reconocera-a-fernando-hazoury-como-empresario-del-ano/), celebrates exactly that: the real impact of tourism on the Dominican economy.

- **Fiscal impact**: hotels contribute and the state collects.
- **Employment**: we're talking about thousands of sustained jobs.
- **Investment**: the sector continues to attract capital.

The industry needs benchmarks. Having Hazoury as Entrepreneur of the Year, with his track record, sends a clear message that we reward those who build and create opportunities.

Dominican tourism keeps moving forward, and recognitions like this reinforce investor confidence. In the meantime, we continue to tell who moves this wheel. That's our commitment.
