Summary: Hosteltur presents Laia, an AI assistant that lets you query current news and the tourism archive in natural language.

## Article

Hosteltur, the leading Spanish-language tourism media outlet, just dropped an **artificial intelligence assistant** called **Laia**. According to their own [release on Hosteltur](https://www.hosteltur.com/177095_hosteltur-lanza-laia-su-asistente-de-inteligencia-artificial-para-consultar-la-actualidad-y-la-hemeroteca-turistica.html), this tool lets any professional, hotelier, tour operator or Mitur official, ask in everyday language about breaking news or dive into the archives.

The cool part is that Laia doesn't just spit out headlines: it understands context, cross-references data and returns answers with direct links to the sources. And this hits a real pain point: **how many times have we wasted hours hunting for that 2022 arrivals figure or the latest hotel investment in Punta Cana**. That is over now.

**My take?** A smart move. Hosteltur holds one of the richest archives in Spanish-language tourism, and Laia turns it into an interactive resource. For the Dominican professional, this means speed to make informed decisions. No more excuses for not having the latest number. And if they train it with more regional sources, this could be the pocket assistant every tourism executive needs.
