Summary: The Mallorcan group opens a new all inclusive in Vietnam and consolidates its vacation segment bet in Asia.

## Article

Meliá is making another move in Asia. The Mallorcan group has announced the addition of a new **all inclusive resort in Vietnam**, a move that strengthens its vacation offer in the country and confirms the segment remains one of its biggest international bets, according to [Hosteltur](https://www.hosteltur.com/179032_melia-refuerza-su-oferta-vacacional-en-vietnam-con-un-nuevo-todo-incluido.html).

Vietnam has become one of the fastest growing Asian destinations for large scale resorts, with direct competition for the long haul traveler who also looks at the Caribbean. For Meliá, the deal fits its strategy of replicating the vacation model it already dominates in **Punta Cana and Bávaro**, where a good chunk of its all inclusive portfolio in the Americas sits.

The read for the Dominican traveler is clear: every new Meliá project in Asia validates its experience running resorts at scale and boosts its leverage with global tour operators. That muscle, sooner or later, shows up in the Dominican Republic too, where Meliá keeps consolidated investments and remains one of the reference hotel operators.
