Summary: The Ministry of Tourism, together with the Jarabacoa Tourism Cluster, organized a fam trip for journalists and travel agents, showcasing the potential of this La Vega municipality as a nature and experience destination.

## Article

The **Ministry of Tourism** and the **Jarabacoa Tourism Cluster** have stepped up to position this La Vega municipality as the country's leading ecotourism hotspot. The move: a familiarization trip for journalists and travel agents, a classic but effective play if done right.

The idea is straightforward: let those who sell and tell destinations experience Jarabacoa firsthand. And the town has a strong hand: rivers, mountains, coffee plantations, and a climate that earned it the nickname “city of eternal spring.” According to [Suelo Caribe](https://suelocaribe.com/noticias/mitur-impulsa-la-promocion-de-jarabacoa-como-principal-destino-ecoturistico-de-republica-dominicana/), the goal is to boost nature and experience tourism, something the Dominican Republic has in its veins but doesn't always exploit properly.

I see this as a smart bet. **Jarabacoa** isn't just a weekend escape for locals, it has the potential to draw international travelers looking for something beyond the sun and sand of **Punta Cana** or **Bávaro**. The challenge lies in infrastructure and connecting the offer with ecotourism-focused tour operators. But Mitur is making a move, and that's always good news for the industry.
