## Article

**Puntacana Resort** has officially teed off the ninth edition of the **Corales Puntacana Championship PGA Tour Event 2026**, as reported by [Arecoa](https://www.arecoa.com/destinos/2026/07/16/puntacana-resort-da-apertura-oficial-al-corales-puntacana-championship-pga-tour-event-2026/). The tournament takes place on the stunning Corales course, designed by **Tom Fazio**, putting the Dominican Republic's eastern coast back on the global golf map.

In my view, this is more than just a sports event. It confirms that Punta Cana no longer competes solely as a sun-and-beach destination: it has carved out a spot on the world's premium golf circuit. The mix of luxury hotels, top-tier service, and a course that challenges the world's best is an unbeatable selling point for specialized tour operators.

The impact goes beyond the greens. Each edition generates **extra hotel occupancy**, global media coverage, and business for nearby resorts. Best of all, the destination keeps proving it can host world-class events effortlessly. Can anyone beat that?
