## Article

The tourist and real estate project of **Punta Bergantín** is taking a serious step toward transparency: its trust will have a **permanent research program** to measure the economic and social impact of everything developed in the area, as reported by [Arecoa](https://www.arecoa.com/destinos/2026/08/28/disenan-programa-para-medir-impacto-economico-y-social-de-punta-bergantin/).

This isn't a one-off study for show, it's a continuous tracking system. I think it's a great move, and I wish more Caribbean projects would copy the idea. At the end of the day, what isn't measured can't be improved.

What's expected from it? To know which jobs are actually created, how wealth is distributed, what changes in nearby communities, and how tourist activity evolves. With that data, decision-making by investors and authorities should be more precise, which doesn't always happen in the tourism sector.

If you want to know how this program was designed and its scope, read the full article on [Arecoa](https://www.arecoa.com/destinos/2026/08/28/disenan-programa-para-medir-impacto-economico-y-social-de-punta-bergantin/). The commitment to measuring and making public the impact is a sign of maturity worth celebrating.
