Summary: Punta Cana Airport adds an international recognition for its role in ACI World's APEX program, an endorsement that strengthens the country's position as a Caribbean air hub.

## Article

**Punta Cana International Airport** has received the **APEX Partner Award** from **ACI World**, as reported by [Dominican Today](https://dominicantoday.com/punta-cana-airport-receives-aci-worlds-apex-partner-award/). The award recognizes the airport's collaboration with the **Airport Excellence Program (APEX)**, the global airport council's initiative to audit and share best practices among terminals worldwide. The ceremony took place in Lima, during the organization's assembly.

The recognition matters from a business standpoint. Punta Cana is the gateway for much of the tourism arriving in the **Dominican Republic**, and having its operation on the radar of a program like APEX gives the destination a technical seal that travels on its own. For travelers, it means processes tested at other terminals. For hoteliers, it means an airport that shares standards with the Caribbean's major hubs.

The reading is straightforward: every time a Dominican airport appears on ACI World's radar, the country gains arguments in the regional conversation on connectivity and arrival experience. A useful endorsement ahead of new routes and the next high season.
