Summary: MITUR and French tour operators promote Samana as a nature and culture destination for summer 2025.

## Article

The **Ministry of Tourism** has set its sights on **France** to fill Samana with travelers this summer. According to the [official MITUR news piece](https://noticias.mitur.gob.do/noticias/promueven-turismo-de-samana-ante-el-mercado-frances-de-cara-al-proximo-verano/), the promotion was done directly with French tour operators, showcasing the peninsula’s authentic side: nature, culture and the famous whale watching.

It makes sense. Samana needs to diversify beyond American and Canadian visitors, and the French traveler is a perfect fit: they look for experiences, not just sun and sand. In my view, this MITUR bet gives the province its own identity compared to the massive Punta Cana resorts.

- **What’s on offer?** eco-tourism routes, local gastronomy and community interaction.
- **When?** the campaign is already running and will intensify ahead of the European summer season.
- **Who leads?** MITUR’s international promotion team, in partnership with the Dominican embassy in France.

I think this is a smart move. Samana has a distinct product, and France values authenticity. If air connectivity supports it (flights from Paris to Punta Cana or Santo Domingo), this could seriously boost bookings for July and August. Hope they keep it up over time.
