Summary: The founder of Grupo Punta Cana receives a global recognition in Malta for his role in the tourism development of the region.

## Article

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) presented a recognition to **Frank Rainieri**, founder of Grupo Punta Cana, and his son **Frank Elías Rainieri**, according to [Listín Diario](https://listindiario.com/economia/sector-turistico/20261009/cumbre-mundial-reconoce-frank-rainieri-grupo-punta-cana_925431.html). The award was handed over by the WTTC's president and chairwoman at an event held in **Malta**.

The honor highlights Rainieri's role in transforming Punta Cana from a stretch of nearly untouched coastline into the country's tourism engine. The Rainieri family has spent decades betting on a development model that has attracted hotel investment, air connectivity, and jobs in the eastern region.

For the Dominican sector, this kind of international recognition strengthens the country brand and opens doors to new partnerships. The reading is clear: when a destination is built with long-term vision, its impact crosses borders and becomes an asset for the entire industry.
