Abinader bets big on Punta Bergantín to lift Puerto Plata

President Luis Abinader has put Punta Bergantín back at the centre of the Dominican tourism conversation. If the project moves at a good pace, Puerto Plata gains new rooms, the state gains tax revenue through ITBIS, the hotel tax and airport fees, and tour operators recover a destination they currently sell with less force than Bavaro or Samana.
