It makes sense. With over 8 million tourists a year and hotel occupancy consistently above 75% in key destinations, the Dominican market is a magnet for international chains. Accor already operates Ibis, Novotel and Sofitel here, and new openings are likely in Punta CanaPunta CanaThe main tourism hub of the Dominican Republic, on the eastern tip, famous for white-sand beaches, all-inclusive resorts and its own international airport. and Santo Domingo.
My take: the more quality brands compete, the better for travelers and for Dominican professionals looking to level up with global standards.
