DR and Honduras strengthen trade and investment ties

The Dominican Republic and Honduras have taken a firm step to expand their trade and investment relationship. The fourth Business Forum on Export, Import, Investment and Tourism, held in Tegucigalpa, brought together authorities and business leaders from both countries to identify new opportunities in strategic sectors, according to Dominican Today.

The meeting, hosted at the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), puts on the table something the Dominican tourism industry knows well: market diversification is not an option, it's a necessity. Honduras is not a giant source market for Punta Cana yet, but it is a trading partner with potential in agricultural goods, manufacturing, and above all, joint hotel investment. The official report highlights that the forum seeks to boost exports and imports, and attract capital for tourism projects.

For the sector, the takeaway is clear: every bilateral agreement the country signs opens a door to new investment flows, and that translates into more infrastructure, more jobs, and more tax revenue for tourism provinces.
