Piñero has opened nominations for the third edition of its Los + Ecoístas awards, a fixture now in the Dominican sustainable tourism calendar. The call targets companies, institutions, suppliers, partners and, for the first time, content creators and media who champion environmental best practices.
According to Dominican Today, the hotel group is widening the scope to reward not only those who operate sustainably but also those who tell and spread those stories. And that, in my view, is a smart move: in a destination where communication often stops at the beach photo, putting the spotlight on sustainability advocates gives the industry a much-needed nudge.
My take: kudos to Piñero for consolidating these awards and leaping into the creator and media space. In a country where greenwashing sometimes runs wild, a recognition with criteria and visibility helps separate the wheat from the chaff. And if it inspires more hotels and tour operators to join in, all the better. Will you nominate that project you know that truly makes a difference?
