Good news for the main airport's operations. Punta CanaPunta CanaThe main tourism hub of the Dominican Republic, on the eastern tip, famous for white-sand beaches, all-inclusive resorts and its own international airport. International Airport has partially resumed check-in at Terminal A as of July 15, 2026, according to Dominican Today.
Renovation and improvement work at the terminal continues, but that hasn't stopped passengers from being able to check bags and get their boarding passes in that area. It's a relief for travelers arriving or departing from there these days, because the process speeds up without having to route everything to other terminals.
My take: keeping renovations moving while the airport remains operational shows that the management team planned well. And in peak season, every minute saved at the check-in counter counts. Hopefully the next phases arrive soon and Terminal A returns to full capacity without hiccups.
