BayahíbeBayahíbeA former fishing village in the south-east, gateway to Saona and Catalina islands and to diving in Cotubanamá National Park. keeps proving it is more than a beach town, it is a magnet for serious capital. Grupo Gritt, an Argentine family business that arrived as vacationers and decided to stay, will invest over US$200 million across two projects, with Don Dom as the flagship. The announcement came from CEO and founding partner Federico Castillo, as reported by Listín Diario.
What stands out here is not just the check size, it is who is writing it. This is not an anonymous fund, this is a family that chose Bayahíbe because they fell in love with it. That is the kind of endorsement money cannot buy.
In my view, this is the best advertising the DR can get: investors who were first tourists, then became stakeholders. The ripple effect on jobs, suppliers and the whole La Altagracia economy is massive. And this is not an isolated case, foreign capital is looking at the East with serious interest.
