Asonahores 2026 breaks records and reaffirms RD tourism leadership

The XXXVIII Asonahores Trade Show, held from September 2 to 4 in Punta Cana, has once again shown that Dominican tourism has no ceiling. The association led by David Llibre spoke of exceeding expectations, but the data collected points to something bigger: a record in participation and attendance that cements the event as the sector's great showcase in the Caribbean. According to Suelo Caribe, the event surpassed all forecasts, news that comes at a time of sustained growth in air arrivals and hotel occupancy.

What is interesting is not only the number of visitors or exhibitors. It is what it represents: hoteliers, tour operators, airlines, and suppliers gathered in one space to close deals that will translate into more room nights sold, more employment, and more income for the tourist provinces. In my view, this edition confirms the sweet moment of the Dominican industry, where Punta Cana, Bávaro, and Samaná continue to drive the sector.
