The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) has made it clear: the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 are a golden opportunity for sports tourism. According to Suelo Caribe, the event, to be held from July 24 to August 8, will diversify the tourism offer and increase the country's competitiveness.
This is not just a competition. It is an injection of international visibility and a way to show that the Dominican Republic is more than sun and beach. I see a clear opportunity for hotels, tour operators and MITUR itself:
I hope the private sector and authorities seize this trampoline to attract more events and consolidate sports tourism as a real pillar. The opportunity is served.
