Santo Domingo hosted the 2026 edition of the International Seminar on Disasters at Airports, Ports and Communities. According to Arecoa, specialists from Latin America and the Caribbean gathered in the capital to share emergency strategies for critical infrastructure.

My take is that this kind of meeting reinforces the Dominican Republic's position as a prepared destination. Hopefully these protocols do not stay in the seminar halls but reach the operational teams at every terminal. That is what keeps tourism being what it is today: a success story in motion.
