Restaurant Week 2026 Kicks Off in Punta Cana with Aderes and Asonahores
The Dominican Association of Restaurants (Aderes) and the Dominican Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores) have kicked off the Restaurant Week 2026 in Punta Cana. The alliance looks to turn the local food scene into another hook for the destination, beyond sun and beach. According to Arecoa, the route will feature special menus and unique experiences at participating restaurants.
My take: this kind of initiative makes Punta Cana a destination of experiences, not just resorts. Gastronomy attracts travelers, extends stays and, most importantly, leaves money in the local economy. Hoteliers know it and that's why they join.
The challenge now is to make the route reach beyond the hotel strip and include independent restaurants in the community. If that happens, the impact shows up in every corner of the province. Hopefully Restaurant Week 2026 marks the start of a tradition that grows year after year, as it did in other Caribbean capitals.
