Piñero joins the WTTC, another step for Dominican tourism
Grupo Piñero has become a WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council) global member. The council announced it, and Arecoa picked it up this Monday. One of the biggest hotel families in the Dominican Republic now shares a table with the largest travel companies on the planet.
That seat is not just ceremonial. Being a global member of the WTTC means taking part in the debates and decisions that set the international tourism agenda, from sustainability to traveler mobility. For a group born in Mallorca with huge weight in Bávaro and Punta Cana, this opens doors that used to be out of reach.
My take: the more Dominican-based groups get into these organizations, the better. They not only sell more, they also push global tourism policies to listen to what is happening in the Caribbean. The opportunity was there, and Piñero took it.
